Ake Axelsson for Gärsnäs armchairs model ‘Zenit’
Åke Axelsson is one of the most experienced active designers and interior designers of Sweden. His interior design work has always been important since the end of the 1950s. His design is characterised by simplicity and reduction where form and function clearly emerge from functionalism. This ecological furniture series designed by Åke Axelsson was built in a way that would do as little damage as possible to the environment. The comfortable and sustainable construction minimises material weight.
The rotating armchairs have bent oak MDF frames with seats/backrests upholstered in red alcantara, with a base in satin chromed steel.
